Probably the best thing I’ve bought for the house yet: Martha Stewart’s Homekeeping Handbook.
Even though it’s not for sure that the house is ours—my fingers ache from being crossed—I bought the book anyway since it’s chock full of good advice and tips and just generally useful whether you’re buying your first house or renting an apartment.
Before I could get my Carte de Séjour (temporary residency card) whilst studying in Paris, I had to get a physical. It included getting a chest x-ray. I was given a clean bill of health by the doctor (“Impeccable,” she said, in French) and I got to take home the x-ray. I’ve been wanting to frame it and display it for some time, but thought it too weird. After seeing this, I just might.

clean your room
Took age old command said by Mothers everywhere and did thorough deep clean of the room I rent after leaving Mom, Dad, and Aunts (2) after a wonderful champagne Mothers’ day brunch.
Vacuum, then dusting. Read somewhere that one should vacuum first before dusting, vacuuming unsettles dust particles or something. Stacked and re-stacked ready to read books near bedside table. Prepared work documents and purse and placed it at my “drop off” table near the door. Laundered mattress pad and sheets, changed out heavy winter duvet for light spring duvet.
God, how clear my mind feels when things are clean. All is right.

I sssooo want one of her rope rugs.
All these colors were achieved with red, yellow, blue, and green food coloring mixed into white frosting. The amount of drops needed for the color you want is underneath the icing color. So convenient. :)
Um, this is soooooo cool!!!!!

I like this little tutorial. Learn how to take new things and make them look old.
